Perhaps it’s a sign of chaotic national issues, but a cozy home represents how most of us want to live. Our home is the one place that we have the control to offer comfort, beauty, and security. There’s something to be said for shutting the door on the world.
Creating a cozy home has little to do with size or budget and can be achieved by everyone.
Maggie Winterfeldt shared an interview she had with Homepolish interior designer Shannon Smith for She feels that three design elements can make all the difference in how cozy a space feels. See what you think.
3 Design Factors
Texture: The More The Merrier

“Add texture with area rugs, drapery, vintage pieces, or natural fibers,” Shannon advises.

Color: Layer Three

“Layer color in your space to add depth, even if it’s neutral,” she says. “I always try to choose three colors — a light color, a dark color, and something in between — and scatter them throughout the space.”

Scale: Go Big, or Go Home

“Large art pieces, leaning floor mirrors, and big area rugs accentuate the height of the ceilings or the width of a room,” explains Shannon. “If you are worried about living in a small space, focus particularly on this tip as it will usually make your space feel larger.”

Until next time…
Blessings from my home to yours,
Dedicated to helping you create spaces that foster happiness and well-being
